-The Virtual Profit Network-
I've been searching for a job for a few months now, and since I haven't been having much luck I've turned to internet employment opportunities. I've signed up for a plethora of websites promising a real paying job, but most of them have ended up being scams.
So my final effort in this niche of online jobs is going to be made on a website I just signed up for, called Virtual Profit Network.
If you'll notice I have added a new widget to my blog to promote this site. Whether or not it stays on there depends on whether or not this is actually a legit business. I have high hopes this time, because through extensive research I have discovered that many people do say that this site is legit and do indeed get paid regularly through paypal.
The point of the site is that you will be referring others to join the site and try out the free offers you are required to try out before joining. I was very skeptical about this, because through experience I've found that offers that claim to be free are often nothing of the sort. A lot of these offers try to be sneaky, as with freecreditreport.com that offers a free trial period, but if you don't call within a certain amount of time to cancel your account, they will begin to charge you on a subscription basis using the credit card information requested at sign-up.
Once you sign up for your account you are given a url that you are supposed to post around the internet. If people use your url to get to the site and sign up for it, you get paid. That's basically the job.
Here's my url if anyone else wants to try this out. http://www.virtualprofitnetwork.com
If I read into this correctly, the fact that I signed up and completed an offer means that the person who referred me earned $20 directly paid to them through paypal.
I'll write another post soon to say if this actually works or not.

Rick Perry: Did I REALLY Just Watch That?
If anyone hasn't seen Rick Perry's newest campaign ad, here it is for your viewing enjoyment.
My first thought: Did I really just watch that video? Did that actually happen? This is without a doubt the stupidest campagin ad I've ever seen.
Not only is he broadcasting to all of America his homophobia, this was also very obviously desperate move on Rick Perry's part. He's using his Faith as his entire campaign. He's expecting people to vote for him singularly on the fact that he is a christian and he will "Christianize" America. And the sad part is, people are actually going to vote for him based just on that point in his campaign.
Anyone that votes for him that has seen this ad is most likely just a mindless follower. I totally respect other religions and beliefs, but not when you hide behind it in order to be prejudiced and hateful. This is an unabated attack ad, it is apologetically prejudiced and absolutely inappropriate. I thought we as a nation had moved past spewing mindless hate mongering, but I guess not.
Rick Perry is like the perfect example of what we're trying to fight against. He does not stand for Christianity. He doesn't stand for Religion. He stands for Hate, Stupidity, and Ignorance.
But with the amount of dislikes on this new video, currently at over 370,000, I would say that most of America agrees with me and we don't really have to worry about this bigot having any place in our government.
And to end on a less serious note, thank you so much tumblr for these gifs

What I don't like about Dungeons & Dragons Online
I've been pretty bored with life lately, so usually that means it's time to go find a free MMO. After my awesome time with LOTRO, I thought I'd try out Turbine's other big Free MMO: DDO.
Needless to say, I'm a little disappointed, and here's why.
After the incredible atmosphere and creativity of lotro, I had pretty high hopes for this title. However I didn't really get that same feeling of immersion. lotro immediately drew me in and hooked me, although that could be partly chalked up to the fact that I am an avid lord of the rings fan to begin with.
Also, even though ddo is a "free" game, I couldn't help but feel like there was an ad for spending real money (a.k.a. turbine points) around every corner. It seemed like every quest or dialogue I initiated came with a friendly reminder that I should buy something from the turbine store.
